About Amy Taylor
My story
I say I have ten years of professional experience, but I’ve really been writing since I could grasp a fat pencil in preschool. In the first grade, my book Sharkey the Shark and Friends, won a state-wide writing competition, which is basically a Pulitzer to a 6-year-old. I was hooked on consuming and creating stories.
I’ve always loved reading and writing, so when I chose to major in English at the University of Mary Washington it was a natural fit.
After college I worked for several government contractors in communications for various military programs. When my family exploded from two to four children in what seemed like the blink of an eye, I decided to better balance my life by freelancing.
I’ve worked with clients across the spectrum of businesses — HVAC, fashion, dog trainers, real estate agents, marketers, holistic healers, artists, hypnotists, fire departments, hospitals, and drug and alcohol rehab centers. I’ve researched and synthesized so much information to write for these businesses that I know a ton of useful facts. If I ever left my house and went to parties, I’m sure I would be the life of them. But, alas, four kids.
I am a learn-it-all and love absorbing all the information I can about new industries. I like to help brands tell their stories in a way that provides value to their customers. When you give people quality content that solves a problem, they want to stay on your site and become your customers.
Parenting content is one of my specialties. I’m in the midst of parenting four children in very different developmental stages. We’ve got toddlers and teenagers at the same time (yikes!) I enjoy sharing tips and tricks I’ve picked up along this crazy parenting journey to help make other parents’ lives easier.
If you have a story to tell, but you’re not sure how to start, I can help. Let’s chat about how I can help your business or publication.

What can I do for you?
I write short- and long-form blogs for businesses.
Did you know that part of Google’s algorithm checks how often your site is updated? The days of setting and forgetting a business website are over. You need your content to be fresh to help you get to the front page of your customers’ search results. You can’t just throw any old content up either. The Google robot overlords are onto that trick. You need quality content loaded with key words that help your customers find you. And once they’ve found your website, you need to keep them there by providing blogs they actually want to read. This is where I can help. I can blog for you and help bring traffic to your site to convert Googlers to customers.
I write for magazines and local news.
If your publication is looking for a one-time or regular contributor, I can help. I enjoy creating stories that add value to your publication to help make you the go-to source for their news or entertainment reading.

Do you have a great story to tell but you’re not sure where to begin? I can write it for you! I have ghostwritten blogs, articles, and e-books for experts in their fields. Impress your customers and get your name out there by hiring me to ghost write for you.
